Mother Moon

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
This mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
--Lord Byron

'Associated with the mother and feminine energy in general, the Moon represents our individual nurturing instincts.'

'When we are positively inspired by the Moon, we are creative, intuitive, sentimental, adaptable, introspective, and protective.'

'Since the Moon represents our unconscious desires and the influence of the past upon our present lives, she indicates what we feel our needs are in order to achieve a sense of security, which may or may not in reality be healthy for us.  She is both our inner child and our outer mother, and indicates our spontaneous and instinctual reactions to our environment.  She also shows us how we protect ourselves; how we make ourselves safe, comfortable and secure.  Whether we allow ourselves to be motivated by fear, restlessness or a fearless sense of adventure is often indicated by the sign our Moon embraces in our charts.  By showing us our unconscious responses, the Moon helps us to gain deep personal insight and we can then work toward healing any deep emotional wounds we have experienced.  By healing these wounds, we can then be free to grow into our authentic, powerful selves.'

'The moon has long been associated with female qualities of receptivity, feeling, moistness, fertility, nurturing, intuition, healing.'

Once in a blue moon, the universe surprises you...
Oh because at the end of the day actions speak so much louder than beautiful words. Wisdom is a gift. Intuition is what lifts.
True artists acknowledge movement. The movement of form and the movement of our souls. We’re all moving in the same direction. Movement is blessing. Hurting another is only hurting yourself.
I’ve got these wide eyes, got this fragile soul.. I’d rather grow old than die young to the static energy of someone else’s inconsistency.

'The Soul is something both inconceivable and immeasurable to which we belong, in which we live - an intermediate dimension between our physical world and the deep unknowable ground of being...'

'In the earliest societies that revered the Moon as the Goddess, the third dark phase was personified as the Dark Goddess---wise, mysterious, and compassionate.   The story of the Dark Goddess begins thousands of years ago in a time before recorded history, when the Moon was worshiped as a primary feminine divinity. The Dark Moon Goddess was loved and honored, and they accepted Her wisdom and Her mystery teachings of the dark.   In her wisdom, which arises from experience, she encompasses the season of Winter and the underworld. Grounded in Her inner strength, the Dark Moon Goddess is filled with compassion and understanding.   The Crone is the Sorrowing Mother who dispenses justice with both love and sadness.   The Crone knows the laws must be upheld, but this does not keep Her from feeling sorrow when the verdict appears harsh to us.  Injustice and imbalance, whatever forms, are detested by Her.   We may not understand or see the balancing of life’s scales, but the Crone never rests until those scales are balanced.'
